Dr. Mitchell O. Fort is a graduate of Northeast High School, Clarksville, TN. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the American Baptist College, Nashville, TN, and his Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Pastoral Theology both from the Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla GA. He holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Hopkinsville College of the Bible and he is an Honorary Graduate of Heritage Christian Academy, Hopkinsville, KY.
Dr. Fort accepted his calling into the Ministry at the age of 16. God has blessed him as a preacher, teacher, lecturer, and seminar leader. Dr. Fort is also an active participant in the community as well as across the state of Kentucky. He is the proud Pastor of Virginia Street Baptist Church where he has served since 1995. In 2006 he was named as President of the Hopkinsville College of the Bible where he also serves as an Instructor.
Some of his past experience includes: Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Elkton, KY; Moderator, Secretary, and Missionary of the First District Association of Baptist in KY; Vice President and Dean of the Baptist Unified Christian Leadership Conference; Trustee / Treasurer of Hopkinsville College of the Bible; President of the Sunday School & BTU Congress; Secretary of the Pastor’s Alliance of Christian Co; Moderator of the Ministers, Deacons & Laymen Alliance of Christian Co. and Surrounding; and he was appointed by the Mayor of Hopkinsville to serve on the Human Relations Commission.

Dr. Fort is the youngest son of the late Rev. & Mrs. L. D. Fort. He is married to the former Renee Butler who is a Registered Nurse at the Fort Campbell High School. They have two children Raychel Bailey and Mitchell Odell Fort, II. They are grandparents of Madison Grace Bailey and Autumn Joy Bailey.
