An usher is a servant of the Lord who takes care of the doors of the church. Ushers are one of the first to make contact with new comers. Jesus commanded the disciples to do the work of ushering by asking them to seat the people. Ushers are to serve the people with a warm and friendly smile so that the hospitality of God is seen. An usher is to be courteous, polite, accommodating and to make people feel welcome. Our role is important because it is the Lord we serve; we will use our service to the glory of God, and above all be a Christian doorkeeper.
